since feeling is first
who pays any attention
to the syntax of things
will never wholly kiss you;
wholly to be a fool
while Spring is in the world
my blood approves
and kisses are a better fate
than wisdom
lady i swear by all flowers. Don’t cry
—the best gesture of my brain is less than
your eyelids’ flutter which says
we are for each other: then
laugh, leaning back in my arms
for life’s not a paragraph
and death i think is no parenthesis

Caro and I had met about a decade ago but it wasn’t until 2015 -5 years after our first encounter- that we decided to setup a shoot together. Last week, another 4 years later, Caro, now an accomplished photographer herself, again was so kind to receive me in her Courtray apartment for another session.
The idea was to keep it simple -which is my preferred way of working- and to “go with the flow”. The new Fujifilm X-T3 paired with the Fujinon 35 f/1,4 and an old Nikon SB-28 speedlight would be the weapons of choice.
Working with both the camera and the speedlight in full manual mode forced me to slow down a bit but working old school style with modern digital equipment was a lot of fun.
I hope you’ll enjoy looking at the pictures as much as we did making them.
